My Latest and Greatest Finds!

Last week I revisited Lakeview Bakery in Calgary on a quest for a gluten free cupcake.

Go here to visit their site: http://www.members.shaw.ca/organicbaking/

I used to frequent this bakery when I lived in the NW and hadn't been back since living in Canmore with all of it's great finds itself (a post on where to eat in Canmore to come).

I didn't buy a cupcake but found some gluten free treasures!

THIS is the best (and only) gluten free baguette I have tasted and let me tell you, it's so good. Crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. Gluten free at its finest! My friend Mar was amazed at how good it was as we chowed down of 1/2 loaves. Look for this package:

I ate it straight with butter but it would be the perfect companion for horsdeouvres, spreads, soups and chili. It will not disappoint.

The other gold nugget I found was gluten free (and egg and dairy free) chocolate chip cookie dough!
You can bake these babies up fresh or as the package says 'just eat the dough' (no raw egg). I love this company 'sweets from the earth'. They make a delicious GF turtle cheesecake and mint nanaimo bar. Look for this promising package:

I made these for a tea party and had several comments on how good they were!

Few things are exciting to a Celiac than finding something you haven't had gluten free before, I was lucky to have found two the other day. I was literally lit up like a Christmas tree and so I had to share with you my gluten free finds for the first time but not the last.

Chocolate chip and baguette bouche kisses,

In my gluten free glory

Why here?

I decided it was time to start sharing some of my gluten free knowledge! I like blogging and have been doing so for a few years. This is a project a long time in the making.

Why now?

Next month will mark the 2nd year anniversary that I was diagnosed 'Celiac' and started my gluten free journey. I've benefited so much from other people's blogs and websites so it was time I compiled all of my resources into one place! I love sharing about new products, places to eat and easy peasy recipes.

I'm a busy nursing student who often eats on the run and loves trying new things.

What to expect?

Stay tuned for:

*Posts with general information
*Profiles and interviews with other Celiacs and Non-gluten goers
*Restaurant reviews
*New food finds
*Recipies
*Stories and experiences

So welcome to an ecclectic space. Please share!

Warmest thoughts!
